1. Introduction

Welcome to Polygot! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of all aspects of Polygot, including the marketing website, web application, Command Line Interface (CLI), and API. By accessing or using Polygot, you agree to comply with these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use Polygot.

3. User Accounts

3.1. Account Creation

To access Polygot services, you must create an account using a verified email address. Account verification is conducted via email.

3.2. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and API keys. Unauthorized use of your account is prohibited.

4. Usage Limits and Prohibited Actions

4.1. Usage Limits

  • Free Plan: Limited to 5,000 words (source + translations), 1 simultaneous translation job, unlimited projects, and unlimited target languages.
  • Pro Plans: Up to 10 simultaneous translation jobs and increased word capacities based on your subscription tier (ranging from 50,000 to 2,500,000 words).

Abusive usage or exceeding permitted limits may result in account suspension.

4.2. Prohibited Actions

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Reverse-engineering or attempting to extract Polygot’s source code.
  • Spamming the API or other misuse of resources.
  • Using Polygot for illegal or unauthorized purposes.

5. Third-Party Integrations

Polygot supports account registration and login via Google accounts. By using this option, you agree to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies. Polygot does not currently process third-party content beyond this integration.

6. Pricing and Payments

6.1. Plans

  • Free Plan: Includes basic features and usage limitations.
  • Pro Plans: Offers additional features and higher word limits based on the subscription tier.

6.2. Refunds

  • Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if you have not used the benefits of your subscription.
  • Refunds are also granted in case of billing errors.
  • Subscription cancellations are non-refundable.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Polygot, including all software, content, and intellectual property, is owned by Emmanuel Jégo.
  • You are not granted a license to use, reproduce, or distribute the outputs of translations generated through Polygot.

8. Disclaimers and Liability

8.1. Service Availability

Polygot is provided "as-is" with no guarantees of service uptime or availability.

8.2. Disclaimers

Polygot explicitly disclaims:

  • Accuracy or correctness of translations.
  • Uninterrupted access to the service.
  • Compatibility with all user tools, platforms, or programming languages.

8.3. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify and hold Polygot harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from misuse of the service or violation of third-party rights.

9. Termination of Service

9.1. By Polygot

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

  • Abusive or prohibited use of the service.
  • Violations of these Terms.
  • A user-initiated request for termination.

9.2. By the User

You may terminate your account at any time via the web application's account page.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by French law.

  • Disputes will first be addressed through discussion.
  • If unresolved, disputes may proceed to arbitration.
  • As a last resort, disputes will be resolved in French courts.

11. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.

  • If legally required, users will be informed of changes via email.
  • If no legal obligation exists, updates will be posted on our website without prior notice.
